Burger Binge
I went burger crazy the past week. These are only the ones I took pictures of.
The barrel burger.. Their brunch menu is decent. I don't remember how the burger tastes. :( I better go back and have some more.
Deli across from shake shack (YUMMMM!) Went in here when it was rainy. I was sooo hungry and wanted a $3 deli burger. You know what I mean, those greasy patties on smushed burger buns. The bill came out to 11 but this burger is magnificent!!! This is no deli burger. Skip Shake Shack and go across the street instead!!
Elevation burger The burgers are decent. It's grass fed beef. It looks like a regular fast food joint but the people who work there are REALLY nice! They came by twice to see how we're doing. (I like their chocolate ice cream and fresh strawberries shake. No, no, I mean I love it. It's the best shake I've ever, EVER had.)

I heart dimsum like dimsum hearts me
I went with my aunt and couscous to have dimsum in Flushing yesterday. My immediate family NEVER goes to have dimsum, or "drink tea", as we call it so I looove it when I go. It's embarrassing because since I go so rarely, I never remember the names of the plates and have to ask a bunch of questions. What is it? What's inside? I had this delicious crunchy fried dough stuff wrapped in rice noodle and it was sooo good. How can I order it again without knowing what it's called? I proceeded to google and found this amusing website. Very helpful for non-chinese speakers as well!
"Pai gwat
排骨Rhymes with "my butt"
Chinese spareribs, often cut very small and usually with a thick, sweet bean sauce on top."
How does dimsum heart me? My blood sugar was 130 before dimsum, and only 88 after! amazing! Disclaimer: I'm no medical professional so please don't go out and engorge yourself in dimsum!!

Kenneth Cole's new shoe line
I was just checking out the hautelook sales of the day and I'm loooooving these Gentle Soul shoes by Kenneth Cole! They look so comfy! That's my main concern these days but these shoes don't skimp on style either. The pricetag is a little steep (150 and up retail price) or this would be my new go to brand. SIGH. I'll wait until it's in DSW.
They also sell it here for retail price.

DOTTED MESH DRESS
How soft and pretty is this?? I notice my wardrobe colors are going back to basic white, blacks and greys. They're easier to wear than lavenders and powder blues and more sophisticated as well. That's me, miss sophistication, starting now anyways. This dress is more on the youthful side. I'm youthful and sophisticated!

More dresses to drool for!
This dress by F21 has a beautiful design. I haven't seen another dress like this one. Unfortunately, this type of dress is not for the pear shaped, and so I will not own it. It's sad, really.
This lacey dress looks so pretty and looks stretchy and comfortable too! For the price JCREW is asking for, it's definitely out of my price range. Also, JCREW charge way too much for their dresses while quality stays poor (dress ripped on day 1, coat lining wears easily). I still love their dresses and coats though, but only on super sale.

Intricate handmade headbands

Now that my hair is super short and wavy, it's tres stubborn and does whatever it wants. In the mornings, it's fluffy and full. You can see me walking around at home with PJs and a heavy winter hat to flatten it down. When I'm out and about, I keep my hat on because I have no clue what shape or form my hair will take. Lately I've been looking for a cute headband to accentuate the short hair, and not hide it! While going through my blogroll today, I found that Sarah of Living the GOOD Life is having a headband giveaway! She's extremely creative and does such great work (you can tell from the photos)! I've already entered and hopefully I'll win the scarlett headband. The flowers on it are made from zippers!

Love her style
from fashionista keiko lynn's blog.
I really like her outfit in this picture!! So simple yet so feminine and pretty.
I'm off to Austin in 1.5 days! My whole body is sore from going out the past two days. By going out, I really mean just stepping oustide and running light errands and definitely not heavy duty partying. My arms are crazy sore. I carried a gallon of paint yesterday from the sidewalk to my apt! After looking at it under home lighting and not home depot lighting, I realize the color is all wrong! It's sunshine orange and not mellow yellow. I should've know, with a name like "Pooh Bear Yellow" that it would be orangey! My living room walls are painted in an eeyore grey. I'll have the whole Hundred Acre Woods gang in my apt in no time!

Reading List
I'd be happy if I even get through half of these.
Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martel (gift)
The Poisoner's Handbook by Deborah Blum (from library)
Musicophilia by Oliver Sacks (from library)
Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris (e-book)
When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris (borrowed)
Female Chauvinist Pigs by Ariel Levy (borrowed)
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne (free for kindle)
and more!
The public library is so amazing! They have the newest books, videos, and music as well as e-books and audio books you can borrow through their website. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Alas, there is a borrowing limit and I have a carrying capacity. My arms are a bit sore today. The Queens library implemented a new checkout system which utilizes RFIDs in the books and a scanner at each counter. All it takes it 3 motions: flash library card, put stack of books on counter all together, pick up stack of books. It's wonderful and so much faster than their old system of barcodes. I was thoroughly amused and loving the library even more. The downside to the public library is BABIES and people screaming on their cellphone. Oh, sometimes I feel like I have to wear gloves to read their books so I don't catch anything. Some library patrons are not the cleanest people. =x

When there's a good idea...
capitalize!
I've been watching too much tv, trying to follow each and every show, so I'm going to narrow my tv time down to 4 shows. Still excessive probably, but we all need some couch time!!
1) Castle
2) Bones
3) Psych
4) Mentalist
Let me describe all these shows: Detective with consultant partner solves crimes, with romantic overtones (except for Mentalist). Castle and Bones both write crime novels which fulfills the romance that doesn't happen in their lives. Psych and Mentalist both use jedi mind tricks to one up their respective detective friends. The crimes are sometimes similar too, but I don't care. Most of the main characters in these shows have had parents involved in crime (victim or otherwise) which led them to their careers. If it's a good story, it's a good story. I can basically watch the same show 4x a week!
Creators of Grey's Anatomy have a new show out about doctors doctoring in foreign countries. It looks like it's going to be a lot of dramarama just like Grey's.

The day is still young
I know it's 5pm, but I am making my to do list now, and whatever I accomplish, I accomplish. Whatever I don't... there's no don't!!!
Make a replica of an American Apparel dress I just bought. It turns out to be just two large rectangles sewn together! It's highly versatile and can "transform" into like 20 dresses/skirts. Great idea, AA, great idea. Now I steals it.
Begin making hats for whoever desires one. My first is a cat hat.
Paint Initial art for Fifioni. Yay, I get to see you in person in 2 days! So excited. You better not cry when I hold you or.. or.. I'll be very sad. :(
FINISH the stupid book.

I forgot where I found this image. Cross-stitching looks like lots of pixely fun. I'll have to remember to pick up cross stitching supplies next time at Michael's of Joann.
